Will my extended warranty cover for this on my 06 vehicle?
Posted by admin
I now have extended warranty on my vehicle. Some of the stereo buttons don’t light up for some reason. It seems as if its a bulb or something that went out in a certain area because everthing else on the stereo lights up. Before this I also had the same problem. I was able to get it fixed because I was under manufacture warranty. They ordered a new deck for me and it worked. Now its happened again and it just so happens that its the same buttons that the lights go out. What can I do about this situation?
warranty should cover that…BUT make sure you ask first…

Unfortunately, sounds like it’s a closed unit since they replace the entire deck.
How long ago did they replace the deck? Hopefully it’s still under a parts warranty if you’re out of manufacturer’s warranty.
The dealer (depending on manfacturer) could also replace it under a "goodwill" or "repeat repair" authorization from the manufacturer.
Most likely the extended warranty will not cover a radio. Most extended warranties only cover powertrain and hard parts.(again, depends on the manufacturer and who the warranty is through- i.e. the manufacturer or an outside "insurance" company)
What is the make and model of the car and who is the extended warranty through?

Contact your dealer and talk to them, some extended warranties are better than others. They have a habit of excluding things in some extended warranty contracts. Good Luck
